Dr. John Chapin - 2005 Industry Achievement Award
Dr. John Chapin, Chief Technical Officer of Vanu, Inc. is also deserving of recognition as he has played a major role in the development of SDR technology, not just within Vanu, but in leadership positions on Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) working groups within the SDR Forum and JTRS communities. Prior to his work at Vanu, Inc., Dr. John Chapin was an assistant professor at MIT in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department, and was awarded the 2000 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE). John earned the M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford, as well as a B.A. in East Asian Studies.
